A young painter, Freya Fellow, has been murdered while painting the manor’s owner, Flora Fellow. You figure out what you’re doing by looking at your case file, and then move over to the scene of the crime after exploring the grounds for awhile. The two have a completely different chemistry from any of Grimoire’s old relationships, Sally able to take Grimoire out of his comfort zone for comedy while being just as observant as he is. He’s now accompanied by Sally from the last game, a former suspect now working as Grimoire’s snarky assistant. Instead of an introductory exposition dump from Officer James and some mystery built by that mysterious girl who always seems to find Grimoire, you just see Grimoire arrive to the scene of the crime in silence. You can tell something is different from just the first scene.
During all of that, the team rethought character dynamics, game structure, and puzzle design, resulting in one of the most polished detective games you’ll find out there. The project started shortly after the 2014 release, an attempt to take advantage of the Creative Europe’s funding program for narrative games, got put on hold to make Snipperclips, and finished up after with a two year dev cycle.
Tangle Tower is so successful at this that it would invalidate the previous games if not for the fact that it does end up being a direct continuation of the previous game, despite implying otherwise initially.
TANGLE TOWER MUSIC TOY SERIES
Come 2019, and it turns out they were taking their time, rethinking elements of the previous games and aiming to make something that put the series up to this point to shame. They’ve found a niche for themselves and have been pretty comfortable there, and it seemed like Detective Grimoire didn’t really have a place in there anymore. They’ve mainly been busy on mobile releases, the cutesy Switch co-op puzzler Snipperclips, and the goofily grim house haunting game Haunt the House, nothing particularly memorable but all quite charming and colorful. The symbol for gold is on the hex labeled VI.Five years after Vian brothers tried bringing Detective Grimoire into the commercial indie world, we finally have a sequel. In this path, VI and VII are never visited. If you follow the line path, you visit the following places in the hex grid: II, I, III, IV, V, VIII, IX, XII, XI, X. The only way the relative positions work is if the pi corresponds to position II in the grid. Overlay the Greek letter paper's general organization of boxes onto the hex grid from the lab. We still get the same conclusion using another line of reasoning. Let's suppose, however, you don't buy the "atomic mass 197" reasoning. What we're MEANT to get from this is that the pathways to get beetles made of components with atomic mass 191, 193, 195, 196, 200, 201, 206, and 209 have all been found! However, getting that mass 197 gold beetle has proven elusive.Ĭonclusion: All of these papers just show that it's hard to make gold in this world. (Neutrons don't affect an atom's elemental identity, but it's magic beetles, so who cares?). The developers either confused atomic number with atomic mass, or else alchemy in this universe relies on atomic mass. The atomic mass of gold is 196.967, almost exactly 197. The number BELOW the element's symbol gives you its atomic mass (protons + neutrons, averaged across all isotopes, or versions) of an element. On the periodic table, the atomic number ABOVE an element's symbol tells you which element it is. So you can get diagrams with forks and branching depending on what kind of decay happens.
This can change the number of protons (for example, gold has 79 protons) and yield a different element. In chemistry, nuclear decay (such as ALPHA or BETA decay see the alpha and beta letters in the diagram) can lead to different pathways that turn elements into each other. The achievement name, "Chemistry or Alchemy," is likely also a clue. On the table nearby are beetles made of different materials, some of which are labeled with numbers. Maybe SB Games just wanted to torture us. the next poster needs to analyze this because I HAVE NO CLUE what this means. Tried to make it with the planets in the right order and find the logic with the numbers but to no avail. I thought it was some kind of family chart. THen the chart with the A B C could be pretty intereting. I thought I was onto something with the Greek symbols which could start spelling as PEWY or PENNY.
